Congratulations to KK!!! I can't wait to meet your new wife!
How this week has just flown by! Mamma mia! Where do we start!
I love the 12 week program. And I love how the Lord always organizes our week to fit the 12 week program and the things we are studying. This week we did quite a bit of finding! Not that our investigators aren't progressing, but a lot of them had things come up, so we had to reschedule appointments, which left us with free time.
I have always loved finding. And about the middle of my mission I loved it so much that I just stopped everyone on the street! Then I kept noticing that even though I was stopping everyone and doing my best, my companions were always frustrated with the way I did finding. Then one companion had enough love to tell me that...maybe that isn't the best way to do it. And at first I was a little offended, thinking, "but I stop more people than you!". But then I realized that I wasn't paying enough attention to who the spirit wanted me to talk to. I was relying too much on my own skills.
This week we did lots of good finding. It was uplifting. We didn't talk to a million people. But we did talk to a good solid amount of people. Thanks to the spirit. It was a good lesson to learn.
Just chillin with the nuns!
Fun things that happened this week...
So my watch broke...ugh! (I have the worst luck with watches and cameras). So I was asking our mafia friend where I could find a cheap watch. Then all of a sudden all of these old men standing by started offering to give me their watches! "But I don't use mine anymore, I have a cell phone...so I will just give you mine!" I kept telling them no, I can't take your watch! (partially because old men watches really aren't my style). But one of them just insisted. He went to his house across the street and brought me this watch. When he told me that it was brand new I told him NO I am not taking your watch. He looked at me and said "STOP you are taking this watch or I will be very offended." And the way he said it kinda scared me....soooo now I have an old man watch.
Last week I mopped the floor. (exciting right!) And even though we are on the ground floor of the apartment building, I stuck the mop out the window to dry. When we came home that evening we discovered that our mop was gone. Like...I was upset that someone stole our mop....but really? Why would you even want our old dirty mop?....anway, we got over it and on pday we bought a new mop. Two days later we woke up....and our mop was back in our window. Mafia?
(I am sorry I keep making all of these mafia stories....I just do it to add a little spice in my email, not to scare you mom! Really, I am safe.)
On the Saturday session of General Conference we had 3 English course students show up!! And answering your question.... they usually broadcast an Italian translated version of conference in the chapel, and then the missionaries watch it in English on the computer.
Wasn't that super cool how they did the translation! The Chinese guy was my favorite....crazy that Blake speaks like that! I am going to come home being like,
"Che cavolo stai dicendo!!"
And she is going to come home saying,
"sdfuahwieuor sdfioahwe asdfuhasd"
We also have been working on this gratitude project for the members! The title says "Gratitude is the beginning of greatness" And the other quote says " How much of life do we lose waiting to see the rainbow before thanking God for the rain?" Needless to say our house is COVERED in glitter! It reminded me of the good old student council days! Making football posters! Speaking of....will there still be a few football games after I come home? I really want to go and see one! And also...is Colten asking anyone to Homecoming? :)
On Sunday before we watched conference we all ate luch together! It was really good! During conference we ate some more. After the last session....we all ate again. Lasagna and general conference. How can the week get any better!!
So I know that this email is kinda short...but I really need to finish that application. :)
Allora... addio a tutti! E vi auguro una buona settimana!
