It sounds like girls camp was lots of fun!! I wish I could have come and seen it! And next year I will totally be the camp photographer! I hope things get sorted out with the car. We just have bad luck with cars. Or maybe we just use them too much :)
Also I have been thinking about some tips that I can give for Trayser! Okay bring your own set of sheets and pillow case and towel. You won't regret it! Also, if you still have that quilt that Granny made when we were kids, bring that. It is the perfect size and it is the perfect thing to help you feel a little bit at home. Also...take out the rings of your preach my gospel and laminate the covers, then write on the inside with permanent marker. That is it for this week. haha
So this week has been a splendid week!
Monday for Pday we did all of the normal things and then we did a little bit of shopping. I found some good stuff on sale, two pairs of pants. Yay!
Tuesday we did DDM in Messina. Luckily we didn't have to walk there! Then in the afternoon we went and saw Isuri. She is 16 and she is soooo excited to serve a mission. She is from Shrilanka. Love her! (she was in the picture from last week with the other sisters. the selfie.) Then we did English course!
Wednesday....ummmm I was called a false prophet. Awkward. It was with this teenage boy that didn't even know what he was talking about. Whatev.
Then we went and saw a less active that has a house right on the beach! It was soooo cool! And we ate the best gelato that I have ever had in my life. Well my time in Italy.
Then Isuri called us and told us that she wanted to come and do finding with us (really...she is so cool) But the surprise was that she brought her 8 year old sister! So one of us sat on a bench with her and taught her about faith, and then me and Isuri talked to the other people around us. It actually went really well. We found this girl that told us that when we started talking to her she felt a strange sensation enter her body. Oh ya!
Thursday we went to a city that is a 40 minute bus ride away. We saw a member that is divorced and is raising three little boys by herself. Man...that's a rough life. I really look up to all of those single moms who work so hard to hold the family together.
Then we went to English course.
Friday we went out to P___'s house. To get there we have to take the tram, and then take a bus. But in the summer, the public transportation stinks! (well...actually it always stinks) But mostly the summer and Sunday! Anyways....we were on the tram and this man told us that the spot to take the bus moved, (which I believed, because in the summer transportation changes). So we followed him to the new spot, but the bus wasn't there. So we asked around a little bit and learned that it really does leave from where we first thought. So we caught another tram and got to the bus stop 2 minutes before it was supposed to leave....but the bus wasn't there! So we asked and the lady told us that the only bus that goes out to P___'s was to leave in an hour. But then the bus back was 30 minutes after we got to P___'s, and if we missed that one we would have to wait 3 more hours. Anyway....in the end, we got to P___'s and taught her the stop smoking program (where we also promised to not eat chocolate for a whole week.....che brutto!). And we even caught the bus back!
That evening we went and saw a less active, and then we did some finding!
Saturday morning we did weekly planning and then in the evening we went over to Reggio to do a mostra. And again there was trouble with transportation! Usually we take a ferry over, but we got to the station and they told us that they decided not to do ferries on Saturdays and Sundays. But luckily we were able to take the big ferry that all of the cars go on. And we got there right in time!
Sunday we went to church...and it was amazing as always!!
Then in the evening we did another mostra, but here in Messina.
So this week has been really good! I've been learning a lot this week.
I've been reading in 3 Nephi. And my favorite chapters are 12-14. The beatitudes! I like to call it, the Blueprint to Perfection. There is a quote by Harold B Lee that says, "Every one of us, if we would reach perfection, must one time ask ourselves this question 'What lack I yet?' if we would commence our climb upward on the highway to perfection." So again the question popped up this week... what do I lack? And the promise is true, "ask and ye shall receive, knock and it shall be opened unto you". And a big ugly door opened up this week. So all week I have been paying close attention to try and correct myself. And it was hard...and humbling. But the most beautiful thing happened yesterday. I took the sacrament. And I was able to ask for forgiveness. And it was like a burden lifted off of my shoulders. And after church yesterday, and even this morning, I have realized....that my weakness....isn't so much a weakness anymore. I wouldn't say I have arrived at the point where it is a strength, but it's not difficult for me to overcome now. And it was just another testament to me of the strengthening power of the atonement. That is works. That it is real!
"Perfection is an eternal goal. While we cannot be perfect in mortality, striving for it is a commandment which ultimately, through the Atonement, we can keep" -Faust.
I hope everyone has a good week! I love you all!
