Another week in the mission! Things are going good here in Rome. It was a nice sunny week, until Pday! haha and it's raining! But that's okay, we will just deal with it.
Sounds like it was an eventful week on the ranch! Auguri!
Becoming Italian... :)
We had lots of great appointments this week. We have been trying to work with the members and we have received a few member referrals so that has been a fun new experience. Carol is loving being a member and she is just so cute! She came with us to a lesson the other day, and I hope we can start getting her involved in missionary work. Simon accepted a soft baptismal invite, and we tried to do a pass over lesson to the Anziani, but we might have to do another one.
On Wednesday morning we went to see Patrizia. Patrizia lives in a crazy house. The sorelle have been going to see her for years. Actually I have no clue how she even met the missionaries. But once a transfer we go to see her. She has read the whole Book of Mormon and reads the Liahona from cover to cover every month. The first time I went to go and visit her I was a little bit scared of all of the people walking up to us and asking us for money and well....you can only imagine the crazy things that happen in a crazy house! But I really feel bad for them. They are just trapped. Trapped in a little house in the middle of nowhere, but most of all trapped in their own minds. I always wonder why Heavenly Father created those people the way they are. As I was thinking about it, when the Fall happened, not only sin was brought into the world, but also sickness and disease. But I find comfort that these people will not be punished for the natural results of the Fall. That after the Resurrection they will be like new!
We went and visited this one lady, she is probably in her 60s or 70's and the last time we went and visited her we talked about repentance. She told us that at one point she committed adultery! :O And THEN told us that she thinks that she doesn't need to repent about it because she doesn't feel guilty....... mamma mia. This week she told us that it's okay to not be perfect because "even Jesus Christ made mistakes, he wasn't even perfect"..... you may ask why we keep going back to her house. Well because she has this 12 year old granddaughter that comes and listens to our lessons and then she asks "Grandma, do you remember that one time the sorelle told us we could pray to know if Joseph Smith is a prophet? Well I did it, but I am not quite sure what my answer is!" So yes Martina....we will come back just for you!
On Friday I did a scambio and was with Sorella Haynie for the day. It was fun! :)
On Saturday we went and did a service project for this faramacy. It was a fun change of routine!
We did a lesson with our Muslim girl from Iran. She came to church on Sunday too! We have to start at ground zero though! We taught her the restoration and she is almost done with the Book of Mormon! She is in Helaman. But it all went right over her head! She doesn't understand a thing of it. So we are going to spend time this week just talking about God and Jesus Christ.
We also had this lesson with this African guy I met on the bus! (I love Africans!) He actually went to school to be a Catholic priest, but is now back in school for communications. But the reason why I love Africans is because they love God so much! It is so beautiful to hear them talk about their passion of religion. They just get it. (everything, but authority) I walked away learning more from that lesson than I think I taught! It was great!
So, as we know....President likes to make emergency transfer calls. And this week one of the elders in our district got transfered (to PALERMO, so jealous!) And Anziano Di Caro is coming up to take his place!! I am excited to be able to get all my Ptown updates. But it was really sad for Anziano Kasper. He has been in Rome 2 for 8 months! And he has a baptism next Satuday. So they did some moving around and did the baptism last night. It was so beautiful, and I am glad that Anziano Kasper got to see it.

Sorry nothing very exciting happened this week. Well exciting for me, but I'm sorry that I don't have any cool stories to tell! I feel bad because I feel like my emails are dying down. I am sorry I write the same thing every week! haha
This week for my studies I was reading an article in the January Liahona called "Face the Future with Faith and Hope" by Elder Ballard. Beautiful! If you haven't read it, I highly suggest it! It really made me think about the phrase "if ye shall keep my commandments ye shall prosper in the land" I was thinking about missionary work and how it is such a huge deal right now. The Lord has asked us to serve Him. And there have been SO many members responding to the call. We are all inviting people to come unto Christ, which motivates people to keep the commandments and become better people. Better citizens, better parents, better children, better employees, better students. And I just think about how many lives are being effected by this swoop of missionary work. Not only the people that we are bringing to Christ, but us as missionaries. This mission, the things that I have learned, have changed me forever. I will forever be a better person because of it. And I am just so excited to see how the rest of the world is being affected by the things that us, as Latter Day Saints, are doing. We are changing the world! How incredible is that!

{Google Translation: Have a Good Week! I love you guys! Read the scriptures, say your prayers, and always remember who you are! You are a child of God! Bye bye! See you later!}
